My DB celebrated her first birthday last week. Recognizing that she wouldn’t remember anything about this milestone, I didn’t plan to buy her much. But I still wanted some presents to stack around her on the floor so that I’d have some cute pictures for her baby book. Plus, she was starting to get bored with some of her toys.
I saw this adorable toy advertised on television about a month before her birthday, and it’s every bit as cute as the ad and video show. It’s called the Fisher-Price Little Superstar Sing-along Stage (say that fast three times). DB loves it, and is even starting to “get” that she can activate it by shaking the microphone. It costs about $45 from Amazon and a little more at Toys R Us. Watch the video here. It comes with cards printed with the lyrics to all the songs so you can learn to sing along. It’s a keeper.
Her brother and sister wanted to pool their money and buy DB a present for about $25. After some Internet searching (and recommendations from Amazon based on our previous purchases), they chose the Playskool Busy Ball Popper. She is equally enthusiastic about this toy. In fact, she may like it even better. As you can see from the picture, the balls pop up and sometimes hover briefly before rolling down the maze, all while playing music.
